Restoration work continues with the regrading of the main overburden dump and preparation for the recovery and spreading of peat.

Area B to the east of Glenbuck has been partially infilled to stabilise the overhanging excavation face.

Ayrshire Roads Alliance will also be supplying soil to dress the overburden imported to Area B and subsequent landscaping will eliminate the visual impact on the Glenbuck village area.

Further work on the Glenbuck area may include - demarcation of the former village boundary; clearing of the surface mine spoil from the village; setting out the location of various pit shafts; resurfacing the access road; and seeking consent from SEPA to dredge the Stottenclough Burn to assist with draining Burnside Park.
